Vicar Game

Instruction Manual, produced for Found Festival 2014.

Found Festival took place in Melbourne, Australia, while I was living in Washington State, USA. I produced a manual of instructions for being me at the festival, in the hope that I might still be able to attend it vicariously. Here is an excerpt from the manual's introduction:

...I am willing to believe that a more tangible experience of this exhibition is possible. I am willing to imagine that you are having such an experience. I am going to attempt to obtain the pretence of a tangible experience by using your sensory faculties as proxy.

I realise that I cannot see this space solely from my point of view, but I don't want to see it from anybody else's, either. To rectify this issue, this document contains instructions that will help you to perform my looking on my behalf.

Obviously, your performance of me looking is not the same as me looking. The imagined person-who-looks won't be me, but it won't be you either. It will be neither both of us nor neither of us; I hope we can reach a happy medium.
